Lex Weaver is a digital associate producer and editor at The World, a daily radio show broadcasting on over 300 NPR stations with a focus on international news.

WELCOME

Lex Weaver is a Digital Associate Producer & Editor for The World. She also occasionally helps with election ~stuff~ for the Associated Press (AP).

In 2021, Lex served as a Poynter fellow and the editor-in-chief for The Scope: Boston. She led The Scope’s coverage of the 2021 Boston City Council elections (helping profile 47 out of the 55 candidates running) and doubled website traffic and engagement from the previous year. Before that, Lex worked as the Outreach Assistant in the Impact division at FRONTLINE PBS, where she helped run public programming and launched targeted audience-based initiatives to accompany original FRONTLINE documentary films and supported efforts for the Un(re)solved nationwide tour.

Lex holds a B.A. in English and art history from Rutgers University-Camden and an M.A. in journalism from Northeastern University, where she was also an MLK Fellow. She specializes in local communities, international news, audience engagement and social media, Black people stuff and photojournalism.
